THE CITY IN WHICH
16mm / color / 2:00 min / 2011
An expanded cinema project based on Chicago poet Li-Young Lee’s “The City In Which I Love You”. The intersections: Where the curiosity and vision of twelve emerging filmmakers meet a poem set in our hometown. How a whirring projector sings with verses read aloud. Where image and language stride side streets together, navigating an intimate and abstract emotional topography of our city.

AGAINST SOFT EARTH
16mm & DV / color / 11:17 min / 2006
The simultaneous desire to forget and the fear of forgetting entirely: A man disintegrates into a lingering landscape as memory fails and only the impressions of an identity remain. These differing impressions do not here attempt to reconcile themselves, but, together, point across time, across generations, to something unified that carries through.
